The name has its origin in the pre-partition days when Karachi was a part of India. Dhanji Motiram Jewellers established its base in Dubai in 1957 by Late. Dhanji Motiram  Soni. He began his journey as a goldsmith, crafting and designing jewellery for the elite and the local public of Dubai and neighboring emirates.

Today Dhanji Motiram Jewellers is an established Jeweller in the City of Gold, Dubai and a member of the Dubai Gold and Jewellery Group (DGJG), run by Jagdish Chander and Kirti Kishor, sons of Late. Dhanji Motiram Soni.
